Informed sources revealed significant progress in the meetings of Palestinian factions held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to discuss arrangements for transferring authority in the Gaza Strip to a technocratic committee (civil administration), amid broad national and regional consensus.

The sources confirmed that agreement was reached on a list of 15 individuals to serve as members of the Gaza administration committee, noting that there are no objections to the proposed names from international parties, including the United States and the Israeli side.

An agreement was also reached on the mechanism for operating the Rafah land crossing. The plan includes the participation of a European Union mission in oversight, with on-the-ground management by 200 employees from the Palestinian Authority.
