Roberto Morales, Nicaragua’s ambassador to Palestine, said in an interview with Palestine International radio how his country completely rejects the Israeli occupation’s settlement policy, and how the key to peace in the Middle East begins with the ending of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands and granting of the Palestinian people all their rights. Morales also said that the settlements constitute a major obstacle in the face of peace, and the international community must exercise actual pressure on the occupation to force it to adhere to the international laws and UN’s resolutions which affirm he Palestinian people’s right to establish their country at the 1967 borders. He mentioned the historical relations between Palestine and Nicaragua, and the importance of developing them in economy, culture and media.
