The Middle East newspaper reported expectations of President Donald Trump to make a joint phone call with King Mohammed VI of Morocco and PM Benjamin Netanyahu to set the main aspects of the future steps regarding the establishment of diplomatic relations which will start next February or March.
Nasser Bourita, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the recent developments between Rabat and Tel Aviv were not a form of normalization since the relations between them had been going since the 90s. He also said that Morocco had a liaison office up until 2002.
In his statement to Sputnik, Bourita denied the allegations that the US recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara was in exchange for rebuilding relations with the Israeli occupation. Three high-profile American sources said to Reuters that the USA is negotiating the selling of 4 MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones to Morocco.
