Alon Ben David, journalist at Channel 13, said that Egyptian sources revealed to the channel that Egypt invited the Israeli occupation and Hamas to hold indirect meetings in Cairo to conclude the prisoners’ swap deal.
Alon also said that his government realizes the importance of such opportunity, so it answered Egypt’s invitation. He added that Hamas is still trying to have some prisoners who had killed Israelis released, but the occupation completely refuses this.
Ben David pointed to how the deal could include offering the Gaza Strip the vaccine for the Coronavirus. The occupation’s government has recently proposed to Hamas releasing alive prisoners chosen by the occupation, and offering medical supplies to face the Coronavirus.
In exchange, Hamas has to release the Israeli prisoners in Gaza. Until now, no developments have been reported, but could be in the coming days.
