Israel Hayom newspaper reported that cyberattacks hit non-governmental Israeli websites by an Iranian hacking group called Pay1Key.
It also said that the attackers targeted an intel store that belongs to Israeli companies, obtained very valuable information, and demanded a $2 billion ransom threatening to publish everything in 72 hours.
A few days earlier, Shirbit insurance company was also hacked and asked for a ransom (millions of dollars) or the clients’ information would continue to leak.
The newspaper said that the Shabak information department is trying to stop the leaks. It is believed that such attacks may be the Iranian response to the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist Fakhrizadeh whose vehicle was bombed in Tehran a couple of weeks ago.
