Washington Post: Trump’s Deals Are Good for Occupation; BUT!

Dec 19, 2020 02:10 pm

The Washington Post newspaper published an article on how President Donald Trump had ignored regional and international security and stability considerations to achieve his normalization strategy with Arab countries.

He and PM Netanyahu believed that normalization was a real and final solution with the Palestinians, but the truth is exactly the opposite. As long as the Palestinians are under occupation, the Israeli entity will be in continuous danger.

The newspaper considered the ‘reckless services’ Trump had offered to the Arab countries would put the new President Joe Biden in a difficult situation. He would want to keep the diplomatic gains that had been achieved and serve Arabs too.

Biden, however, knows that these agreements were concluded through giving bribes, making concessions and offering political privileges which are generally bad – similar to what happened with Morocco.

Trump had agreed to recognize the Western Sahara as part of Rabat, and to allow Morocco to sell $1 billion-worth advanced drones.

The Congress failed to prevent  a huge weapon deal with the UAE which received F-35 jets in exchange for the normalization agreement although it uses  its air force to help the rebels fighting the Libyan government that is internationally recognized in Tripoli, and it is accused of committing war crimes in Yemen.
