Nir Dvori, reporter at Channel 12, said that the new administration of the elected President Joe Biden informed the ‘Israeli’ officials of having made secret calls with Iranian officials on the return to the nuclear agreement, proving earlier ‘Israeli’ estimates about the initiation of indirect talks between the USA and Iran true.
Benjamin Netanyahu has started forming a committee to build an ‘Israeli’ strategy to handle the preliminary talks with Biden’s administration about the Iranian nuclear program.
According to the Israeli Walla website, the committee will include delegates representing the ‘National Security Council’, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Israeli army, the Mossad, and the atomic energy committee.
Netanyahu wants to assign a high-profile official to head the committee and to be the official speaker in the talks with the new American Administration before the USA’s possible return to the nuclear agreement with Iran.
Security experts find it most likely for Netanyahu to assign Yossi Cohen, Director of Mossad, as the head of the committee; or Ron Dermer, the entity’s ambassador to the USA, who is one of Netanyahu’s closest advisors. Cohen’s term ends in June, and Dermer’s next week.
Channel 12 mentioned that Yossi Cohen held talks with Biden’s security crew in DC despite the diplomatic norms which dictate not holding talks with the elected administration before being officially in office.
He also met with some officials in Trump’s administration; mainly Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State.
‘Israeli’ estimates show that Biden’s administration and the ‘Israeli’ government will collide as a result to serious disputes between them over the Iranian issue.
