Palestinians Abroad: No Elections Without Us

Feb 09, 2021 03:15 pm

Ziad El-Aloul, spokesperson for the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad, said during the conference that the Palestinians abroad, who make up nearly half of the Palestinian people, are supportive of the Palestinian unity and people against the occupation. The Palestinians abroad are not numbers and should participate in any future political structure made after Cairo's dialogue.

He condemned the absence of the Palestinians abroad in Cairo dialogue despite their demographic, political, and economic presence. El-Aloul demanded the factions to reconsider the situation of the Palestinians abroad and to ensure their participation in the Political structure in order for them to take part in the political Palestinian future.

El-Aloul emphasized the importance of paying attention to the distribution of the Palestinians in diaspora around the world. Their right to return and other issues must be handled justly. He urged the leaders in Cairo to pay attention to the difficult living conditions of the Palestinian refugees in general and in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Jordan in particular.

The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad was launched in February 2017, in Istanbul, and is located in Beirut. It aims at launching a popular movement to enable the Palestinians abroad to play an active role in their issue.
