Dialogue Fails between Prisoners, Ofer Prison

Mar 06, 2021 02:10 pm

The Prisoner’s Club stated that the dialogue between the Palestinian prisoners and Ofer Prison failed, so the prisoners will begin protesting until they reach a hunger strike.

The Club said that the prison’s administration notably increased the number of oppression and search operations inside the cells. It even threatened to transport and oppress the organizational commissions even though there have been multiple talks between them the past weeks.

The most prominent demands by the prisoners are the stop of search and oppression operations, provision of basic needs, and improvement of food quality and quantity.

Because of the daily arrests and increasing number of arrested in the Ofer prison, the crisis of shortage in basic supplies continues to exacerbate.

The Club added that the administration ignores providing the minimum quantity of hygiene and sterilization materials that could protect the prisoners from the Coronavirus. Recently, the administration intentionally cuts the water for hours which worsened their sufferings.
