The Palestinian factions issued the concluding statement of the two-day national dialogue that was held in Cairo.

The factions discussed the elections and possible obstacles, means to handle them, and mechanisms for ensuring the electoral process progress with integrity and transparency. Mechanisms for the formation of the new National Council and the number of its members were also discussed.

The participants confirmed making the Secretaries-General Conference a periodic one in order to follow up with the issues which were agreed on.

They also emphasized the importance of holding the elections in Al-Quds, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip; prevent any obstacles from hindering the process – especially in Al-Quds; and ensure an honest political race that serves the national unity.

They also said that there had to be one united leadership for the popular resistance which has to be reactivated.
