The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that Cairo doubled its efforts for stopping the aggression against the Gaza Strip. Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri contacted his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi and emphasized the importance of stopping the assaults against the Palestinian lands, and avoiding more escalation and use of military power.

In another statement, the Ministry said that Shukri received calls from German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and Josep Borrell, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and addressed the deteriorating situation in the Palestinian lands as a result to the confrontations in Al-Quds and the Gaza Strip. Shukri proposed immediate measures to stop the escalation and assaults against the civilians, and protect the Palestinian people's rights.

Kan channel said that serious talks were made to achieve calm between the occupation and the Palestinian factions via Egyptian and American mediation.
