May 28, 2021 11:49 pm

The Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture warned in a press conference of an approaching environmental disaster after the occupation forces had targeted storages of farming materials which resulted in the pollution of the groundwater and soil. The press conference was held in Beit Lahya where the destruction took place.

Ibrahim Al-Qidra, the Ministry Deputy, said that the occupation's army fired artillery shells at storages where agricultural materials were kept, and it resulted in fire breakouts that lasted for days. Poisonous gases and chemicals leaked and damaged the soil, groundwater and public health.

Al-Qidra said that such pollution required the evacuation of the area because of the harmful smells that could affect the public health. He urged international human rights institutes to solve the issues resulting from the aggression.
