The UN Human Rights Council voted on forming an independent international committee that investigates the Israeli occupation aggression on the Palestinian lands, and guarantee of respect to the international human rights law in the areas including the eastern side of Al-Quds and the occupied lands of 1948.
24 states voted in favor, 14 abstained and 9 voted against it: Uruguay, Britain, Marshall Islands, Malawi, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, the Cameroon, and Czech.
Pakistan introduced the draft resolution on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Conference, and it was titled " Human Rights Council Establishes International Commission of Inquiry to Investigate Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel".
Pakistan representative said that the resolution addresses the continuous violence against and expulsion of Palestinians from the neighborhoods in the east side of Al-Quds, and the assaults on Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa in Ramadan. He explained how the illegal occupation, oppressive actions and discrimination are responsible.
The occupation rejected the resolution and the entity's Foreign Minister said that the entity would not cooperate in the investigation and described it as an 'attempt to cover for Hamas terrorist organization' so she said.
