Israel Hayom newspaper said that Egypt is expected to present a long-term ceasefire between the Israeli occupation and Hamas the coming weeks, and will be leading the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian sources in Kan channel said that the Egyptians are interested in leading the reconstruction process through Egyptian contractors in order to import the construction materials through Rafah crossing under Egyptian supervision. The occupation added more restrictions on allowing the entry of reconstruction supplies.

Egypt wants the PA and UN to play a role in the reconstruction process. Israel Hayom also said the reconstruction would be allowed provided Hamas returns the captured soldiers, which Hamas refuses.
