Last week, the Palestinian Hussein Qawareeq, a 60-years old was shot dead by (Israeli Defense Forces) IDF near to Hawara checkpoint in Nablus- occupied West Bank. Although he didn't endanger the Israeli occupation forces, and no gun was found with him. 

Haartez newspaper was informed that Qawareeq was suffering from a psychological problem, and he was receiving medical treatment. Yet he was martyred of his injures at the Israeli Bellinson Hospital. According to his family, the body was not handed over to them.

Hisham, one of the village citizens, said that then elderly Qawareeq was passing the region by his car, when an Israeli soldier from the watchtower fired two shots towards him. In spite of that, he kept walking, so a military car came, and a soldier got out and shouted at him to stop. But he didn't respond, and then the soldier shot him three times, then he fell to the ground. "Al-Qawareeq was known in the area as someone who walks around with no purpose and does not know what in the world is happening around him." Hisham added. 

Khaled, Hussein's brother, said that no one was even informed about Hussein's injury. He was suddenly informed by one of Urta's village citizens while he was at hospital and suddenly saw him there. He had been receiving medical treatment in Bellinson Hospital for three days, and underwent two surgeries before he was announced dead last Friday.

"He had been taking medicine on daily basis for forty years because of the psychological problem he had, he was neither married nor had work. He knew nothing about checkpoint. As a matter of fact, he realize nothing around him."  Khaled said.

In this context, the Chairman of the Council of Urta,  Sa'ad Awad wonders why didn't the IOF arrest Qawareeq instead of killing him.
