The Israeli occupation turned occupied Al-Quds into a military zone in preparation for the new Hebrew year celebrations. It deployed police officers in the old town and the area surrounding Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, and enabled the settlers to increase the daily break-ins at the Masjid. In addition, the forces expanded the arrest campaigns and increased banishment orders against performers of prayer away from the Masjid and the city. They have also become more alert in case of confrontations erupting with the Palestinians in protests before or after the Friday prayer against normalization.
