In the last recent weeks, a series of encouraging indicators have been emerged on the possibility of Qatar's normalization with the Israeli entity, although the official data for both Qatar and so-called Israel don't speak of this out. Yet, there still are some obstacles that must be overcome.

The first indicator, which could be the most crucial one, emerged in the last week. "Al-Quds Al-Arabi" newspaper, issued in London and funded by Qatar, has quoted from a political source in the entity, that Turkey can convene Qatar to make diplomatic relations with so-called Israel under the pretext of helping the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Not long ago, the minister of defense, Benny Gantz, expressed thanks to Qatar for its contribution to the ceasefire in the "Breaking Dawn" operation. On top of that, Qatar will allow Israeli settlers into its territories during the FIFA World Cup, which it is hosting next winter.

Both Qatar and so-called Israel used to have diplomatic relationships, but it cut after Cast Lead operation in 2009. Since then, the Israeli policy has been conservative towards Qatar, which plays both sides; on one hand, it hosts within its scope a US Air Force base and deals with the West, and on the other hand it hosts Hamas officials and incites against Israel and the moderate axis countries in the region.

A senior Israeli security source reported that the entity's officials saw Qatar as a state to maintain regional stability. Qatar began transmitting messages between Israel, Lebanon and Hizbullah on the subject of gas exploration in the Mediterranean and maritime boundary demarcation.

MP: Eli Avidar, who in the past served as head of the Israeli Representative in Qatar between 1999 and 2001, believes that normalization with Qatar will negatively affect Israel's relationship with the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia because of the intense rivalry between these countries and Qatar. Moreover, an Israeli political source has said that normalization will not be forthcoming, but talks will not start from scratch as long as there are old talks for normalization.
