Israeli media stated that the Knesset plenum ratified with the first reading Etamar Ben Gvir’s law, the head of Otzma Yehudit party and the candidate for Minister of National Security.

The law required amending the Police Decree to make the police and its policies fully subject to the minister. It was agreed that Ben Gafir would be granted broad powers, including in the interest of Israeli occupation prisons. The party will also grant the Ministry of "Development of Negev and Galilee", in addition to the "Jewish Heritage" bag.
