Settlers Break into Archaeological Area of Sebastia

Jan 08, 2023 02:20 pm

A group of settlers stormed the archaeological area in the town of Sebastia, north of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.

The mayor of Sebastiya, Mohamed Azim, said that settlers had broken into the archaeological area accompanied by the settlements council, along with maps and a large military guardianship by the occupation army. Colonial parties are greedy to impose control over the archaeological sites, Judaize them and prevent any restoration works there.

He also noted that settlers are launching an incitement campaign against the town of Sebastia by Israeli media, which call for the extension of control over archaeological sites.
