According to the Palestinian Centre for Prisoners' Studies, 41 prisoners in the occupation prisons have spent more than a quarter of a century continuously and remain behind bars, all of whom serve sentences of life imprisonment or dozens of years in prison.
The Centre stated that the list of prisoners who had spent more than a quarter of a century continuously in the occupation prisons had risen with the entry of prisoners Ammar al-Zibn and Muath Said "Bilal '' from Nablus their twenty-sixth consecutive year in prison. They have been detained since 1998 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
