US national security adviser, Jake Solivan, will meet with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and a number of his cabinet ministers.

The Israeli website YNET said this was the first visit of an American official to Israel since the formation of the new government. They will discuss several issues, including the Iranian issue, the Palestinian issue, and the status quo in Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa.

According to YNET, Americans want to ensure that the two-state solution is preserved and that Israel is prevented from any unilateral procedures. They also want to emphasize the need to maintain the status quo in the Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and relieve tension in the West Bank.
