Confrontations continue to recur between the Palestinian popular resistance and the Israeli occupation forces inside the occupied lands of the West Bank generally and in Jenin, its camp and Nablus particularly. In Jenin, Palestinian resistance fighters tend to carry out a plenty of fedayeen operations ago, while in Nablus, there is the "Lions' Den" whom 'Israel' has been attempting to eradicate its leaders since it was first established last year.

The last of those confrontations was the one occurred last Tuesday. A special Israeli force stormed Jenin to assassinate the perpetrator of Huwara operation; as a result, two colonial settlers were killed. Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich thus instructed to wipe out the village of Huwara, pushing the White House to denounce his statements. It is noteworthy to mention that the perpetrator was hidden inside Jenin, while he was originally from Askar camp in Nablus.

At the end, the Israeli occupation managed to achieve its goal represented in the assassination of Huwara's perpetrator along with a number of resistance fighters. On the other side, two Israeli soldiers of the Yamam unit were injured.

A New Tactic to Raid

In their recent raid, the Israeli occupation forces used a new military tactic that has never been witnessed by the families of Jenin before. This tactic is manifested in cutting electricity from the targeted area as an attempt to impose a news blackout on what is going on during the raid to protect itself from being held responsible by human rights laws that defend the Palestinian people.

As Huwara's perpetrator hided himself in the camp on Jenin, this refers to that Jenin would return to how it was before 2002, in term of intensity of weapons owned and ferocity of fighting against the Israeli occupation.

This also refers to what can be achieved by the Israeli occupation in terms of military operations against the Palestinian people in general and the families of Jenin in specific. This time, the Israeli incursion started by cutting power from the targeted area so news does not get leaked out through media and human rights bodies, paving the way for the "scorched earth policy" to be used against the city and its camp.

The Israeli Massacres and the Palestinian Factions

The Israeli occupation forces have carried out a plenty of massacres among the Palestinians under the pretext of assassinating a Palestinian resistance fighter. On the other hand, the Palestinian factions' response is usually confined to condemnation, denouncement and adoption of martyrs.

In my point of view, the Palestinian resistance' attitude comes within a solid plan run by the joint operations room to complete preparations for an open confrontation in Gaza, as stated by some resistance leaders in recent days, the last of which was the statement of Khaled Meshal, head of the Political Office of Hamas.

Apparently, we do not urge the Palestinian factions in Gaza to go into the arena of confrontation in the occupied West Bank in a direct manner as the fire would spread to Gaza and die in the West Bank. We rather urge the response to all of these massacres to be by preparing the ground to a wide-range confrontation that the Palestinian leaders look for.
