According to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission, the sick Palestinian prisoners at Al-Ramla prison clinic decided to start an open-ended hunger strike, condemning the harsh health conditions they undergo due to the deliberate medical negligence practiced against them.
In addition, the commission demonstrated that the prisoners gave enough chances to the prisons’ administration to provide them with the proper health care they need at Al-Ramla prison clinic. However, the Israeli prisons’ administration still neglects their humanitarian and health needs.
In that connection, the commission stated that the prisons’ administration doesn’t allow the prisoners to undergo medical examination over the period they are detained. It also ignores providing them with the necessary medicine, and prevents the medical crews from treating them. Not only this, but it refuses to send their medical files to doctors outside the prisons to diagnose them, what poses a serious danger on their lives.
