“Some countries informed the administration of UNRWA of their intention to reduce their funds significantly,” UNRWA stated. 

Speaking on behalf of UNRWA, Adnan Abu Hasna said that some countries, which we don’t want to mention, had informed us of their intention to significantly reduce their funds, stressing that the financial deficiency faced by UNRWA is worrying. 

He referred to the consultant committee conference, scheduled to be held in Beirut next month, highlighting its importance for the presence of funding bodies and host countries. 

Since years, UNRWA has been suffering from serious financial crises, affecting its ability to provide services for Palestinian refugees.
