With 19 underage and 3 female detainees currently being held in administrative prison, the Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies has confirmed that the occupation forces have intensified their use of administrative detention against underage and female prisoners this year.
Riyad Al-Ashqar, the center's director, stated that more than 26 administrative decisions were made against underage at the beginning of the year, including those against whom new administrative orders were issued as well as others who were renewed for additional periods ranging from 3 to 6 months. Half of the underage who are administratively detained were renewed for a second time. At least a few of the youngsters exceeded their childhood behind Israeli prison bars.
