The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" reported that the leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, has announced his rejection of any normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia that involves uranium enrichment in the kingdom, as Saudi Arabia is prohibited from full uranium enrichment capabilities.
The newspaper also noted that Lapid is the first Israeli official to openly oppose signing any normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. An official Israeli channel mentioned that "the main dilemma in reaching an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia is the Saudi demand to build a nuclear plant.” Additionally, "senior officials in the Israeli establishment are divided on this point, with some fearing that this step could lead to a regional nuclear arms race in Arab countries."
