According to the Israeli public broadcaster Kan 11, Bezalel Smotrich, the occupation government's minister of finance, will allot a budget for settlement plans in the West Bank that is expected to total 700 million NIS.
According to Kan 11, Smotrich is collaborating with Orit Stork, Minister of "National Missions" and Settlements, to privatize the funds with the goal of bolstering settlement in the West Bank, even in arbitrary outposts.
Since the start of 2023, settlement construction in the Palestinian territories has accelerated. The Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission's numbers show that there are 726,427 illegal settlers living in West Bank settlements, including Al-Quds. These settlers are spread out across 176 settlements and 186 settlement outposts, of which 86 are agricultural outposts.
