Dr. Ekrima Sabri, the head of the Islamic Supreme Council in Jerusalem and the Imam and Khateeb of Al-Aqsa Mosque, has warned about the Israeli government's efforts to transform the eastern part of the occupied city of Jerusalem into a military barracks through what is known as the "Five-Year Judaization Plan."
Sabri stated that the Israeli government aims, through this plan, to increase its settler presence in East Jerusalem, at the expense of the Palestinian heritage of the city, in an attempt to impose a Jewish character on it.
The plan involves giving an Israeli identity to Palestinians in East Jerusalem and integrating them with settlers, while eliminating all Arab and Islamic aspects of the city. He emphasized that the "Five-Year Plan" is one of the most dangerous Israeli projects aimed at completing the Judaization of the holy city.
