Dr. Alaa Hilles, the director of the Hospital Pharmacy Department at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, has warned of the potential cessation of kidney dialysis services in Gaza hospitals due to a severe shortage of the necessary medical supplies for dialysis.
Hilles explained in a statement that this situation poses a serious threat to the lives of 1,100 kidney failure patients, including 38 children, each of whom requires three kidney dialysis sessions weekly to remove toxins from their bodies.
He also pointed out that central warehouses are now completely depleted of the medical supplies required for kidney dialysis, such as filters, cannulas, and blood tubing.
He emphasized that what is currently available in the kidney dialysis departments at hospitals is only sufficient for a maximum of 10 days.
