Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, announced that the UNRWA will have to partially pay the salaries of 28,000 employees in the health and educational sectors for the absence of grants from the donor countries in the UN.  He added that the UNRWA needs $70m in order to pay full salaries for November and December. He urged the international community to solve the UNRWA’s financial crisis so it would be able to offer its services in all fields, especially the medical field that requires medical supplies in the fight against the Coronavirus in the refugees’ camps; and other social services and emergency response programs.
