Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri denied claims that the movement had withdrawn from negotiations, confirming that communications with mediators are ongoing to reach a permanent ceasefire.
Abu Zuhri emphasized that negotiations are still in progress, explaining that Hamas is discussing multiple proposals, not just one, in an effort to reach an agreement that meets the movement’s goals and puts an end to the humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
Meanwhile, media reports indicated that Cairo has put forward a new proposal to restore the ceasefire in Gaza, aiming to pave the way for calm, facilitate humanitarian aid entry into the Strip, and resume negotiations.
Currently, 59 Israelis remain captive by the resistance, 24 of whom are still alive.
