Most bakeries in the Gaza Strip have stopped operating due to the continued closure of border crossings for over a month, and the prevention of food and fuel from entering. As a result, citizens are once again struggling to secure basic sustenance amid growing signs of famine.
International humanitarian organizations have warned of a collapse in food security in the Strip, noting that the continued closure of crossings means that “famine is now only a matter of time.” Most goods have disappeared from the markets, and the prices of the remaining items have risen significantly, forcing citizens to rely on canned food to secure their meals.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stated that the Israeli Supreme Court's decision to reject the appeal to resume the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip represents a central element in a comprehensive and active colonial system contributing to the execution of genocide against the population of the Strip.
