What is known as the "Jewish Passover" is one of the religious occasions during which the city of Jerusalem—particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque—witnesses dangerous escalations due to the actions of extremist groups that exploit this holiday to entrench their presence and promote the Judaization of the mosque.
Extremist “Temple Mount” groups have called on settlers to intensify their attempts to bring in and slaughter “Passover sacrifices” inside and around Al-Aqsa Mosque, starting a week before the holiday begins officially on April 13 and lasting for a week.
Fakhri Abu Diab, a specialist in Jerusalem affairs, affirmed that extremist "Temple" groups exploit the Jewish Passover as an opportunity to escalate their incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. The gravest threat lies in these groups’ calls to bring Passover sacrifices inside the mosque—an unprecedented and extremely provocative act that undermines the sanctity of the site and threatens to ignite the entire region.
He warned that the occupation provides protection to these groups, turns a blind eye to their violations, and even facilitates their efforts to impose new realities in Al-Aqsa. This is part of a systematic plan to divide the mosque temporally and spatially, ultimately aiming to demolish it and build the so-called "Third Temple" in its place.
Abu Diab called on the people of Jerusalem and Palestinians in general to head to Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront the occupation’s Judaization plans, which seek to build the alleged temple on the ruins of the mosque.
