The occupation forces have escalated arrest operations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem during the current year, according to the Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies.

The center reported more than 2,100 cases of arrest in the first quarter of the year, explaining that the total number of arrests from October 7, 2023, to the end of March of this year exceeded 16,500 cases, including 510 women and 1,300 children. These figures do not include arrests in the Gaza Strip, which are estimated to be around 10,000.

The center further clarified that the number of martyrs among the prisoners has risen during the first quarter of the year to 300, with 9 new martyrs, most of whom were from Gaza. They were arrested during the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, and all of them died as a result of torture in the occupation prisons and deliberate medical neglect.
