Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Moroccan Gate, under heavy protection by Israeli occupation forces, on the third day of the so-called Jewish "Passover" holiday.

The Israeli police transformed the Old City and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa into a military zone to secure the settlers' raids and provocations during the Jewish holiday.

According to the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem, 1,231 settlers entered the mosque and performed Talmudic rituals, including dancing, singing, and clapping in the eastern section of the compound.

Israeli police imposed tight restrictions on Palestinian worshippers entering the mosque, expelling two Murabitat (female guardians of the mosque) and preventing them from remaining in the area.

The so-called "Passover" holiday lasts for a week, starting from sunset on Saturday, April 12, and continuing until sunset on Saturday, April 19.
