The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has released a video of an Israeli captive who was wounded in a recent Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip. In the video, the captive calls on Israelis to rise up against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
The captive, visibly injured in several parts of his body, said:
"We were bombed after the ceasefire ended, and only by the grace of God did we survive. Because of that, we went down into the tunnels. Once again, we were bombed while underground, and again, by God’s mercy, I survived death."
He added: "This is the result of the military pressure and the war to release the captives that Benjamin Netanyahu talks about."
He continued: "My condition is very bad and there is no medicine... I don’t know what happened to my fellow captive who was with me at the time of the bombing. Please help us. Don’t sit in your homes. Don’t let the government normalize this situation for you."
The al-Qassam Brigades continue to hold 59 Israeli captives, most of them soldiers, and condition their release on ending the genocidal war on Gaza and completing a prisoner exchange deal.
