Journalist Hassan Sammour was martyred along with members of his family in an Israeli airstrike that targeted his home in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
Following his death, the Government Media Office announced that the number of martyred journalists has risen to 216 since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Sammour’s killing comes just two days after the martyrdom of journalist Hassan Asliyah, in what is seen as a systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists.
The Media Office held the Israeli occupation, the U.S. administration, and other countries involved in the war—such as the UK, Germany, and France—fully responsible for this crime.
It also called on the international community to take urgent action to protect journalists in Gaza.
