The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) expressed deep concern over the rising number of child casualties in Gaza due to Israel’s ongoing war on the Strip.
According to the organization, 45 children were killed in just the past two days, bringing the total number of child fatalities over the last two months to more than 950.
UNICEF stressed that children in Gaza face not only the risk of death from bombings, but also from hunger, lack of healthcare, and disease outbreaks due to the severe shortage of clean water—all while restrictions continue to block the entry of essential humanitarian aid.
The organization added that children’s rights are being blatantly violated every day, as they are subjected to violence, ongoing displacement, and deprivation of basic life necessities.
