Slovenia announced the banning of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering its territory.
Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon stated: "We have decided to declare Ben-Gvir and Smotrich as persons unwanted in our lands," emphasizing that the aim of this decision is to put pressure on Tel Aviv to end the suffering in the Gaza Strip.
With this decision, Slovenia becomes the first country in the European Union to take such a measure.
This comes after the failure of EU foreign ministers to agree on a joint action against Israel due to human rights violations during their meeting in Brussels last Tuesday, which prompted countries to take individual measures.
