The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stated that “Israel” has effectively started implementing its unlawful plan to destroy Gaza City and impose its illegal military control over it.

The Monitor pointed out that the occupation army is carrying out large-scale demolitions of residential blocks in the southern, eastern, and northern parts of the city, in a simultaneous offensive gradually advancing toward its center from three directions, following the army’s announcement of the launch of “Gideon’s Chariots 2” on August 20.

It noted that more than one million people are currently trapped in less than 30% of the city’s area, all facing the threat of forced displacement to the south.

The Monitor warned that the continuation of the occupation’s assault to achieve full military control over Gaza portends unprecedented mass atrocities against civilians and would completely undermine what remains of humanitarian response efforts, which are already collapsing and severely strained.
