Qatar and Egypt confirmed that the joint Egyptian-Qatari mediation efforts to halt the fire in the Gaza Strip are facing Israeli intransigence and obstruction of the ceasefire proposal.

This came during a press conference held in Egypt between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman.

Abdelatty said: “The project to displace Palestinians will not happen under any pretext, and our efforts with Qatar will not stop despite Israeli obstinacy,” stressing that their first mission remains to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and deliver aid to it.

The Qatari Foreign Minister said: “Unfortunately, the efforts to stop the war in Gaza have been met with further disregard,” emphasizing that the international community must assume its responsibility and end the blockade and famine in Gaza.
