The Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs reported that Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons of Ofer and the Negev are enduring extremely difficult humanitarian conditions. This was revealed following visits by the Commission’s legal team to a number of detainees in both prisons.
The legal team documented a clear accumulation of physical and psychological suffering among detainees, resulting from ongoing medical neglect, a severe shortage of essential medications, and the absence of proper health follow-up, which has led to the worsening of multiple medical conditions.
The Commission also noted a serious lack of clothing and blankets, and recorded complaints of continuous repression and abuse, including repeated searches and mistreatment.
