European Parliaments Demand Banning Entry of Settlements’ Products

Dec 16, 2020 01:00 pm

Adel Attia, Ambassador of Mission of Palestine to EU, said that 40 EU parliaments signed a petition demanding the ban of entry of settlements’ products to the EU markets.

The petition was submitted to Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Trade; and demanded the implementation of the international Law and the World Trade Organization law that prevent the settlements' products from entering the EU’s markets.

This action is part of the Palestinian diplomatic efforts made to face the decision of the American president Donald Trump who considered settlements’ products as Israeli.

At the same time, the UAE, made deals to import products from the settlements as Yossi Dagan, head of Shomron Regional Council, posted on his Facebook page.

The United Nations Human Rights Council had already called out international coroporates not to deal with the settlements after 112 international companies were added to the black list for dealing with settlements last March.

The resolutions of the Security Council and UNGA affirm that the settlements which are established in the occupied Palestinian lands are illegal, unlawful and similar to war crimes.
