The Human Rights Watch organization said in its report about the 2020 events in the occupation’s entity and Palestine that the occupation had systematically oppressed and discriminated against the Palestinians the past year.
It also said that such practices surpassed any security justifications the entity had often given.
The report mentioned the occupation’s enforcement of a travel ban on the Palestinians that for the 13th year in a row they cannot move through Beit Hanoun Crossing.
The exceptions are limited to the ill, diplomats and people with permits. 2,000,000 Palestinians are deprived from their right to freedom of movement and have limited access to electricity and water, and suffer from bad economy.
The report showed a decrease in the number of truckloads, from 1064 to 256, leaving from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and the occupied lands of 1948 (from before 2007 until now).
The report mentioned that Egypt restricted the movement of the goods and the people moving through Rafah crossing. The number of Palestinians who went through Rafah Crossing in the first nine months of 2020 reached 4,767 on a monthly basis (i.e. less than12,172 which is the monthly average of 2019, and than 40,000 before 2013).
About the West Bank, the organization reported ‘Peace Now’ talking about the occupation’s plan of constructing 12,159 housing units in the settlements as of October 15. Israeli reports said that there are 661,000 settlers, 132 big settlements and 124 random settlement outposts (unsilenced) in the West Bank (including occupied east Al-Quds) until the end of November 2020.
According to OCHA, until October 19, 2020, the occupation had demolished 568 Palestinian houses and buildings which resulted in the displacement of 759 people.
The report mentioned that the number of Palestinians who were martyred until October 5 reached 20 Palestinians, and 2,001 were wounded. The bodies of 67 Palestinians who were martyred in 2015 are still in the custody of the occupation.
