Azzam Al-Ahmed, member of the Executive Committees at the PLO and Fatah, said in a press release that the Palestinian factions in Cairo will address the mechanisms of making the coming elections successful after President Abbas’ decree on the Legislative, the presidential and the National Council elections.
Al-Ahmed said that the arrangements of the elections’ security and the coalition lists will also be addressed in the meeting. He confirmed that Fatah’s door is open for everyone including Hamas. He added that 5 factions from the PLO showed their willingness to align with Fatah but no agreements have been made yet.
Al-Ahmed emphasized the importance of encouraging people to register in the elections before the final day of registration on February 14th.
