Israeli sources said that 44 settlers died and tens were injured in a crush in Al-Jarmak Mountain in Safed in north occupied Palestine. The settlers died while celebrating Lag B'Omer holiday.
The sources reported that over 100,000 citizens were celebrating which explains the huge number of killed and injured. Yideoth Ahronoth published pictures of the bags where the bodies were kept.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the preliminary investigations showed that the stage did not fall apart, but the settlers slipped while being at the staircase. Dozens fell off each other which resulted in the big number of dead and injured.
