Occupation Prevents Attorneys from Meeting Prisoners before Trials

Sep 14, 2021 09:22 am

Khaled Mahajneh, the attorney of the two prisoners Mahmoud Arda and Yacoub Qadri, said that the Israeli occupation authorities do not allow him and other attorneys from meeting the four prisoners who were re-arrested after they had managed to break free from Gilboa prison days ago .

He said that they prevent them from knowing any information regarding the four prisoners; Mohammed Arda, Mahmoud Arda, Yacoub Qadri and Zakeria Zubeidi.

He added that he and his colleagues could know that the prisoners are being interrogated in Al-Jalama prison -known as Kison Detention Center.

He also noted that they could not hear what the judge and the prisoners were talking about during the trial.

They wondered how the attorney would defend the accused without meeting him as the occupation authorities prevented them from meeting the four accused before the trial.

Mahajeh expects that the prisoners will be transferred from the north to the south to be isolated in private sections so they cannot contact anyone nor can they meet family or attorneys.

In the same context, the Palestinian Prisoner's Club called on the International Committee for the Red Crescent and all international organizations to take serious action and reveal the fate of the four prisoners.
