Al-Akhbar Lebanese newspaper revealed details of political contacts between Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip and the Egyptian mediator.

"Political contacts have taken place over the past two days between Palestinian factions and the Egyptian mediator about the gravity of the Israeli actions and attempts to strain conditions in all squares, and ways to end that situation, after the return of escalating steps of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons in rejection of prison administration practices against them.

The factions indicated that the prison administration begun a new provocation against them by closing the cells of Islamic Jihad detainees and preventing them from going out into the squares. Prisoners gave the administration hours to end the closure in conjunction with the Public state of alert.
