Today marks the 17th anniversary of defeating the last soldier in the Gaza Strip.

The occupation withdrew with its settlers and soldiers from the Strip as a result of the pressure fallen upon them by the freedom fighters, especially after the outbreak of al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000, in addition to tunnel wars which-during the past two years- targeted strongholds of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

The Resistance’s operations spared the occupation the cost of being exposed to comments from the public opinion, and forced them to run away under the name of “Israeli disengagement from Gaza '' plan, which was announced by the Israeli Prime Minister, Ari’el Sharon.

Despite years of withdrawal, the occupation’s aggressive operations against the Gaza Strip and its people continue, through the imposition of blockade that has led to the collapse of many sectors and the continuation of its aggression in various forms, exacerbated the suffering of the Gazans.
