Haaretz revealed conflicted positions over the use of drones against Palestinians in West Bank areas.

According to the newspaper, "somebody" who was keen to leak and inform televised channels, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Aviv Kokkhavi gave the green light to his forces by carrying out air attacks in the West Bank, using attack drones.

The newspaper noted that some officers do not see any need to launch air strikes, and some fear that they would achieve adverse results, including a gradual reluctance to use troops deep into the West Bank.
